What Is California RIDE?

Uber, Lyft or HopSkipDrive

Applicants must drive on one or more of the participating rideshare platforms.

4,500 Passenger Trips

You must have completed at least 4,500 qualifying passenger trips across participating platforms in the prior 12 months. Delivery trips do not count.

Income Qualification

Household income must generally be at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level, or you may qualify through an accepted income-qualifying assistance program.

BEV or FCEV Only

Eligible vehicles are battery-electric vehicles or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. Plug-in hybrids and traditional hybrids are not eligible.

36-Month Requirement

The vehicle generally must be owned or leased, registered and used in California for rideshare activity for at least 36 months.

For point-of-sale redemption, your EV must be purchased or leased from a RIDE participating dealership such as Redwood City Nissan.
