MyFirstEV is a California point-of-sale incentive designed for residents purchasing or leasing their first eligible zero-emission vehicle. Instead of waiting for a later rebate or tax filing, an eligible customer receives the approved discount as part of the dealership transaction.

After Nissan launches, the exact model, trim, VIN, price, recall status, and current Nissan rules must be verified.
Review Customer Eligibility
The customer confirms California residency and first-time ZEV buyer or lessee status.
Submit the CARB Attestation

Who May Qualify for MyFirstEV in California?
These are the basic screening questions. Final eligibility depends on the customer’s truthful attestation and the current Nissan and CARB program requirements.
California Resident
The customer must reside in California, and the qualifying vehicle must be delivered and registered in California.
First-Time ZEV Buyer or Lessee
The customer must be acquiring their first battery-electric or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle through a qualifying purchase or lease.
Participating Nissan Dealer
The transaction must be completed through a Nissan dealership participating in MyFirstEV after Nissan activates its program.
Eligible New Nissan EV
The exact model, trim, VIN, transaction price, and other vehicle conditions must satisfy the Nissan program terms in effect after launch.
Hybrids and Plug-In Hybrids
Conventional hybrids and plug-in hybrids are not zero-emission vehicles for MyFirstEV purposes.
Nissan Launch Required
Nissan must activate its MyFirstEV program before a Nissan transaction can qualify. CARB currently lists Nissan as coming soon.
No Retroactive Eligibility
CARB states that vehicles ordered or purchased before a participating automaker makes MyFirstEV available will not receive the incentive. Do not complete a Nissan transaction expecting the program to be applied later.
